What is Christianity? What is Christianity?

Christianity is not a crutch, it is more like a life support machine. "And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life." (1 John 5:11-12) Christianity is not a fairy tale, a myth or fable. It is a founded on historical facts, and eye-witnesses accounts. "For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty." (2 Peter 1:16) Christianity is not a get rich quick scheme, it is finding peace and contentment in all situations through Jesus. "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he has said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) Christianity is not a bunch of do's and don'ts. It is love, life and liberty through Jesus Christ. "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." (Galatians 5:1) Christianity is not a heavy burden, Jesus promised that His burden is light. "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:29-30) Christianity is not a limited to a certain culture, Christianity is for everybody. "And he said to them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) Christianity is not a new religion, it is the fulfilment of the promises made to Adam & Abraham. "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:58) Christianity is not a once a week affair, it's a daily love affair with Jesus. "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Matthew 22:37) Christianity is not a philosophy or outlook on life, it is looking to a living Jesus as Lord of all. "Wherefore seeing we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily entangle us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2) Christianity is not a spectator sport, every Christian is running the race. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily entangle us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us," (Hebrews 12:1) Christianity is not a western or eastern religion, its origins are from Heaven above. "He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all." (John 3:31) Christianity is not about buildings, It's about souls housing the spirit of God. "You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 2:5) Christianity is not about doing good works to be saved. It's receiving the free gift from God by faith. "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, that nobody can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, and your household." (Acts 16:31)
