Prayer Our focus must be on Christ 100% • TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE • SATAN WILL TWIST SCRIPTURE • WE MUST SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER. • Spiritual Armour • • The moment we became Christians, we became Satan's enemy. Before we were Christians - Satan was pleased with us - but now we are enemies. • Satan is now committed to foul up our lives. He is intent on troubling our lives. • God has provided the protection (in Christ). • Demons are likened to germs, looking for someone to infect. They are habitual liars. • We are not in a playground, we are in a war. We must stay active and take the truths on board. • Pray in the Spirit • • Ephesians 6:18 With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit, and to this end be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints. • Satan doesn't want us to pray. And will put up obstacles to stop us. I.e. tiredness. • Pray and mean it - Prayer is very powerful. • Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings. • As we pray the Holy Spirit will pick us up and carry us to the throne of grace. • 2 Corinthians 4: 3-4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing, among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God. • Ephesians 1: 18-19 since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened-so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength. • 1 John 5: 14-15 And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him. • We should pray for each other for enlightenment, for protection of the church and ourselves that our vision will be clear Prayer
